Live Security Professional is a fake antivirus that intends to scam your money. How does it work? It gets installed in your computer in a sneaky way that you and your antivirus could not detect its existence and then begin its evil operation. First, Live Security Professional pretends to be an antivirus and scan your computer. After scanning, it tells you that tons of viruses are found in your computer and suggest you to get rid of it immediately. Finally, it suggests you to buy its full version of it or its license. You would brush it aside if you know it is a fake antivirus, but shutting it down would make it pop up again and again. But if you don’t know it and buy it, then horrible things await you. So do not be taken in.

Usually this antivirus is bundled with other programs, so you have great chances getting infected with Live Security Professional when you install other programs. It will also catch you when you download something from insecure sites or view those site will have the same risk.

Apart from popping up message which urges you to buy its program, you computer will become slower than before, as Live Security Professional scans which might take up certain amount of memory. Removal instruction

Step 1: Enter the safe mode with networking.

Restart your computer and keep tapping F8 before windows launches, and then choose “safe mode with networking”

Step 2:Disable startup

Press”Win+R”, then type “msconfig” in the dialogue box and press “Enter”. After entering the “system configuration”, click “startup” tap, then find the relevant startup items and disable them.

Step 3:Uninstall Live Security Professional from the “control panel”

“control panel”>>”programs”>>”uninstall a program”>>right-click the “Live Security Professional” >>”uninstall”

Step 4:Enter the registry and modify.

Press”Win+R”, then type “regedit” in the dialogue box and press “Enter”. 

Find the following registry entries and delete it.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Live Security Professional
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "ctfmon32.exe" = "C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\rundll32.exe C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\.dat,XFG00"
