What is Win32:Webcake-A

Win32:Webcake-A can be categorized as an adware that get on your compute withour your permission. Users who have IE,  Google chrome or Mozilla Firefox could be attacked by Win32:Webcake-A. As it was embedded malicious code known as add-ons that result in displaying various advertisements, anyone whose computer is infected with it might feel quite annoying with Win32:Webcake-A.  when you open a new tab, it will pop up a page full of ads, popups.


Usually, Win32:Webcake-A can be distributed by third party programs. By bundling with those free programs, Win32:Webcake-A can easily get on your computer  when you install those programs downloaded from the insecure sites. Also it can be disguised as an attachment or link in  the spam email and if  you click it out of curiosity, that would be more likely to pick it up.

Removal guide

Step 1: show all the hidden files to reveal its files.
Click Start>>Control Panel>>Appearance and Personalization>>File Option>>click tab  View.      Then check Show hidden files and folders and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) and hit  OK.


Step 2: go to the rask manager and end related process.
Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del at the same time and then choose Start Task Manager.


Find the Random.exe and end it.

Step 3: go to the registry, delete corrupted entries and files.
Hit Win+R and then type “regedit” in the dialogue box and hit Ok.


Find following registry entiries and delete them:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\[RANDOM CHARACTERS].exe
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run ‘Random’
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\run\Random.exe

Find following files and remove them all:
%AllUsersProfile%
%AllUsersProfile%\Application Data\~r
%AllUsersProfile%\Application Data\~dll
Step 4: restart your computer.
